late spring

Our nature corner in late spring...

In class, I learned how to make the rooster-topped maypole and the needle-felted bird in the nest (as well as the nest). I bought the peach-colored little gnomes in the center at the Hummingbird auction (made by one of the other mamas) and decided I needed to have more. With them as inspiration and using this very helpful tutorial, I made a few more during my brief lucid hours in the days that I was sick. They're so sweet and fun to make! The beautiful rose was a gift from our neighbor and just happens to match our new friend perfectly.

Happy late spring everyone. Isn't it beautiful out there, all green and abloom?
